Over the River (Thanksgiving Day)
I found this little poem about Thanksgiving Day that I thought was nice and had potential to make a few small revisions to make it just a little more Jeep friendly for the holiday.
My revisions of course are in BOLD! Happy Thanksgiving day to you all!!!
Over the River (Thanksgiving Day)
Over the river and through the woods
To Grandmother’s house we go.
The horse (Jeep) knows the way
To carry the sleigh (to plow through the white and drifted snow)
Through white and drifted snow.
Over the river and through the woods
Oh, how the wind does blow!
It stings the toes
And bites the nose,
As over the ground we go.
Over the river and through the woods
To have a (some Jeep fun) first-rate play.
Hear the (pistons churn) bells ring,
Ting-a-ling-ling! (and the engine hum)
Hurrah forThanksgiving Day!
Over the river and through the woods,
Trot fast, my dapple gray! (Tread through my able YJ)
Spring (Bound) over the ground
Like a hunting (hungry) hound,
For this is Thanksgiving Day.
Over the river and through the woods,
And straight through the barnyard gate (rocky terrain).
We seem to go
Extremely slow~
It is so hard to wait!
Over the river and through the wood~
Now Grandmother’s cap I spy!
Hurrah for fun!
Is the pudding done?
Hurrah for the pumpkin pie!
